Walleyes Are Everywhere in Otter Tail Lake

Fishing conditions are good and how you fish is determined by the time of day.

December 8, 2009 at 7:54PM

Fishing continues to be good in the Otter Tail Lake area. Walleyes are being caught in 25 to 35 feet of water with crawlers and spinners during the day.
During the late afternoon and evening hours - sucker minnows or redtails are working in 10 to 15 feet of water above the cabbage.
Around sunset start trolling crank baits on the flats or sunken island in 5 to 10 feet of water.
Most popular crank bait is a #5 Shad Rap deep or shallow diver - colors are purple, firetiger or bleeding pearl.
Sunfish and crappies are hitting in 15 to 16 feet of water on smaller lakes using wax worms or crappie minnows.
