A showcase for Minnesota's dance community

Hot off the heels of her immersive show at Intermedia Arts, Rosy Simas steps into the role of curator for Walker Art Center's annual Choreographers' Evening. For more than 40 years, this event has celebrated the complexities of Minnesota's dance community with a presentation of short pieces representing diverse artists and styles. Simas specifically looked for dances that reflect our social and political climate in choosing this year's performers. The mix includes emerging artists Magnolia YSY, Robert Keo, Holo Lue Choy and Deja Stowers. Also represented are seasoned choreographers such as Paula Mann, Megan Mayer, Taja Will and Laura Selle Virtucio. (7 & 9:30 p.m. Sat., Walker Art Center, Mpls.; $20-$25, 612-375-7600, walkerart.org.)
