Vos meets with Walker, no hints on vetoes

MADISON, Wis. — Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos says he and Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald met with Gov. Scott Walker to talk about the budget and possible vetoes, but he wouldn't give details of the conversation.

Vos said he met Wednesday morning with the governor. Walker plans to sign the budget on Sunday in Pleasant Prairie, but he may release some of his budget decisions prior to that.

Vos says he did not ask Walker to veto anything, but instead responded to questions Walker had about items in the budget. Vos would not say what areas Walker questioned.

Interest groups, the University of Wisconsin, Democratic lawmakers and even at least one Republican have asked Walker to veto numerous parts of the budget, including creating a bail bondsmen program.
