The No. 6 seed Seahawks, despite having to travel to Minnesota, are a 5-point favorite against the No. 3 seed Vikings in Sunday’s noon game.
The Vikings have been playing great football since Thanksgiving. Seattle has been just as good — even better, if you ask the makers of the NFL’s point spreads.
The Vikings beat Green Bay on Sunday night 20-13 to win the division. Seattle pounded Arizona, the NFC’s No. 2 seed, 36-6 on the road.
Perhaps more importantly to oddsmakers, the Seahawks came to Minneapolis on Dec. 6 and crushed the Vikings 38-7.
Seattle is the most-favored team of the opening weekend of the playoffs.
Green Bay, the NFC’s No. 5 seed after losing Sunday night, travels to Washington for a Sunday playoff game. That game has opened as a “pick ‘em” game.
