Fuzzy math

Titans coach Mike Mularkey made an interesting decision after getting within nine with 28 seconds remaining, going for two instead of kicking an extra point to get within eight: "I thought we had [them] a little bit on their heels. We had to go for two no matter what, that time or the next time, it's irrelevant. [If] I had to do it over again, I'd kick the extra point, yes."

MANO-A-MANO

Vikings CB Trae Waynes vs. Titans WR Tajae Sharpe

WHO WON?

Subbing for injured Xavier Rhodes, Waynes gave up six of Sharpe's seven receptions. Great experience for Waynes, but edge to Sharpe in this matchup.

PLAY OF THE GAME

INSTANT ENERGY

Tennessee held a 10-6 lead in the third quarter when QB Marcus Mariota (8) was flushed by Vikings DE Everson Griffen (97) and floated a pass intended for Harry Douglas (83) that was picked off by LB Eric Kendricks (54). Kendricks was untouched on a 77-yard return, giving the Vikings the lead for good.

THE QUOTE

"A case of me trying to do too much. I probably should have just thrown the ball away."

— Titans QB Marcus Mariota
