The Vikings are in the process of conducting private workouts with quarterback prospects -- a list that reportedly includes Cam Newton, Jake Locker and Andy Dalton. But they also want to get a closer look at some draft prospects at other positions as well.

The National Football Post reports that the Vikings are expected to bring in USC offensive tackle Tyron Smith and Georgia outside linebacker Justin Houston for visits, according to NFL sources.

The Vikings bring in prospects every year before the draft to get a better feel for their personalities, or to check on any medical concerns or other issues.

Offensive line is an area where the Vikings certainly could look to upgrade after a disappointing 2010 season. Smith (6-5, 315 pounds) is projected to be selected in the first half of the first round.

Here is the story on him from NFP.

At 6-3, 270 pounds, Houston is a hybrid outside linebacker/defensive end. He also is projected to be taken in the first round. He had 10 sacks for Georgia last season.
