So, Adrian Peterson, what would you do to "fix" the Vikings running game this season?

"I don't know," the six-time Pro Bowl running back said. "I guess I feel like what's already fixed is fixed."

Fair enough. Even with Peterson playing through an injury for part of 2013, the Vikings were second in the NFL in yards per carry.

Peterson's numbers fell from 2,097 yards and a 6.0-yard average in 2012 to 1,266 yards and 4.5 last season. But he's healthy after groin surgery, in excellent shape and beyond well-rested after seeing no practice contact and no preseason playing time.

"I'm ready to go," Peterson said. "Each and every year for eight years now, I've been ready to roll."

Worth considering

2 The Vikings were the second-best rushing team ranked by average yards per carry (4.92) in the NFL behind only Philadelphia (5.13) last season.
