The Vikings released five players in advance of this weekend's minicamp.

Gone are tackles Austin Wentworth and Antonio "Tiny" Richardson; safety Ahmad Dixon; tight end Ryan Otten; and running back Henry Josey.

The team is likely clearing some roster spots in case they sign more players after the weekend camp, which will include their drafted players, undrafted free agents who have been signed, and other college free agents looking for a home.

Wentworth played three games for the Vikings last season as a reserve guard. The Vikings signed Josey off the Jaguars' practice squad before the 2014 season finale. He did not suit up for that game, though.

Dixon was also on the 53-player roster by the end of the season. Otten was a practice squad player, and Richardson spent the season on injured reserve after knee surgery.
