The Vikings have released Cedric Thompson from their practice squad.

Thompson, a safety who played in college at Minnesota, had been with the team since late last month. He was originally a fifth-round pick of the Dolphins last year and has also spent time with the Patriots.

To fill his spot, the Vikings brought back offensive tackle Sean Hickey. They also added running back Bishop Sankey, who was a second-round pick of the Titans two years ago, to the practice squad on Friday.

The Vikings, who play Thursday, are back on the practice field Sunday.
