Vikings playoff scenarios

The Vikings already have clinched a playoff spot but they could clinch the NFC North and a first-round bye this weekend.

The Vikings wrapped up a playoff spot with a victory over the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday. This Sunday they could clinch the NFC North.

That will happen if either Green Bay loses at Pittsburgh in a late afternoon game or if the Vikings beat the Carolina Panthers on Sunday night in Charlotte. It also will happen, although this one is a long shot, with a Vikings tie and a Packers loss or tie.

The Vikings also are in a position to clinch a first-round bye in the playoffs, meaning a top two seed in the NFC. That will happen with:

Vikings win and a Philadelphia loss or tie OR

Vikings tie and a Green Bay loss or tie and a Philadelphia loss
