Vikings needs, and possible targets at the NFL combine

February 18, 2015 at 6:32AM

Wide receiver

A huge need, especially considering Teddy Bridgewater's growth. Scouts in Indy will drool over Amari Cooper (Alabama) — and sleeper Dorial Green-Beckham (Missouri.)

Running back

Did you hear that Adrian Peterson's future is up in the air? The Vikings will look hard at a strong crop with familiar faces: former Gopher David Cobb and former Badger Melvin Gordon.

Guard

These prospects' names are never in the bright lights — A.J. Cann, Tre Jackson, John Miller — but left guard might be the Vikings' most obvious hole.

Offensive tackle

Matt Kalil and Phil Loadholt had poor seasons. (What, you noticed?) If Vikings are moved to draft a replacement, Iowa's Brandon Scherff could get a look.

Defensive end

Brian Robison will be 32 when the season begins. Shopping for "next up" could start with Vic Beasley (Clemson).

Middle linebacker

The combine will feature undersized athletes here looking to show their speed and power.

Cornerback

Who was it that once said: "You can never have too many corners."?

Safety

The Vikings will be tempted to bet big on another playmaker to park next to Harrison Smith. Is Alabama's Landon Collins that guy?

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
