Every Wednesday morning, beat writer Matt Vensel will share five Vikings stats that actually mean something heading into that weekend's game.
0 — times the Vikings have allowed 300 passing yards in 2016
In the modern-day NFL, where footballs are flung all over the field and quarterbacks have thrown for at least 300 yards 99 times this season, the Vikings are one of three teams that have yet to allow a 300-yard passer. Remarkably, the highest passing total the Vikings have given up was 271 yards to Marcus Mariota in Week 1. Kirk Cousins, Eli Manning, Jay Cutler and Blake Bortles, who had 257 against them in Sunday's 25-16 win, were the only other quarterbacks to top 250 yards. The Texans and Cardinals are the two other teams that have yet to allow a 300-yard passer in 2016. We'll see if the Vikings can keep it going this weekend against Andrew Luck, who has four 300-yard performances for the Colts this season.
272 — snaps played on offense or defense by the Vikings draft class
While other teams, most notably the Cowboys and Titans, have gotten major contributions from their draft classes, the Vikings have used their 2016 draft picks sparingly, much to the chagrin of many of their fans. Top pick Laquon Treadwell has played only 80 snaps on offense, which is still the most playing time, not including special teams, among their picks. Second-rounder Mackensie Alexander has played only 64 snaps at corner, fewer than seventh-rounder Jayron Kearse, with 73 at safety. Offensive lineman Willie Beavers and tight end David Morgan are the other two of the five Vikings draft picks who have made cameos on offense or defense.
1 — Vikings completions traveling at least 40 yards since Week 3
The Vikings actually connected on some downfield throws against the Jaguars, with quarterback Sam Bradford completing all three of his passes that traveled at least 20 yards downfield. His 45-yard completion to wide receiver Stefon Diggs in the second quarter was his first completion that traveled at least 40 yards through the air since the Week 2 win against the Packers, per ESPN. Diggs was on the receiving end of that one, too.
3 — Vikings regulars who have already set career highs in catches
