Vikings' Danielle Hunter, Harrison Smith voted second-team All-Pro

Danielle Hunter can add an All-Pro selection to his career year.

Hunter was voted as a second-team All-Pro pick by a national panel of 50 media members. The rising Vikings star had a career-high 14.5 sacks and earned his first Pro Bowl bid.

Hunter is joined by safety Harrison Smith as the Vikings' representatives on the All-Pro teams. Smith was named second-team All-Pro. It's Smith's second honor after he was a first-team All-Pro last season.

Smith had another strong season for the Vikings as a versatile defender against the run and pass. He tied his career high with three sacks, adding three interceptions and a forced fumble.

The NFC North champion Bears had four first-team selections in edge rusher Khalil Mack, safety Eddie Jackson, cornerback Kyle Fuller and punt returner Tarik Cohen.

Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was the only unanimous first-team All-Pro selection.

Kansas City had four first team players in quarterback Patrick Mahomes, tight end Travis Kelce, flex player Tyreek Hill and right tackle Mitchell Schwartz. Kelce's brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, also made the team.

Two other rookies, Seattle punter Michael Dickson and San Diego safety Derwin James, were also on the team.

Two players made All-Pro for the fifth time: Houston edge rusher J.J. Watt and Carolina linebacker Luke Kuechly.

Brothers also were voted to the squad: Travis Kelce of the Chiefs and Eagles center Jason Kelce.

The All-Pro team had a split of 14 AFC and 14 NFC members. There were 16 newcomers: Mahomes; Schwartz; Fuller; Jackson; Cohen; Saints receiver Michael Thomas; Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari; Eagles interior defensive lineman Fletcher Cox; Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore; Chargers defensive back Desmond King and special teamer Adrian Phillips; Jets kick returner Andre Roberts; and the four rookies.

Players with previous All-Pro honors who made the 2018 team included Donald and Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner, each for the fourth time; Mack, Dallas right guard Zack Martin and Ravens kicker Justin Tucker, each for the third time; Hill; Rams running back Todd Gurley; and Texans receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Smith got six votes and Hunter three.

The voting at safety was Jackson 37, James 27, Jamal Adams of the Jets 24, and Smith six.

The voting at edge rusher was: Mack 43, Watt 32, Von Miller of Denver 12; and a three-way tie for the final second-team spot between Cameron Jordan of New Orleans, Myles Garrett of Cleveland and Hunter with three.

Ex-Viking Cordarrelle Patterson was the second team kick returner.
