Jordan Woy, the agent for Vikings nose tackle Remi Ayodele, has confirmed that Ayodele will be released. And in the 34.5 seconds it took to write this, the team has now also confirmed that yes, indeed, Remi is gone.

It's not exactly a shock considering Ayodele's play last season and the possibility that he might be facing some sort of punishment from the league when Commissioner Roger Goodell gets around to suspensions for the players who were involved in the Saints bounty program from 2009-11. Goodell crushed Saints management with punishments earlier today.

Ayodele left the Saints after the 2009 Super Bowl season to join the Vikings via free agency. He never was a good fit. He was a starter, but had a limited role and finished with just 15 tackles on the season.

The Vikings will move Letroy Guion to nose tackle and have Fred Evans and Christian Ballard as backups at the position.
