Vikings activate tight end

Reisner was brought over from the practice squad, and Olsen was waived.

The Vikings made a rare Saturday move, putting tight end Allen Reisner on the active roster off the practice squad and waiving guard Seth Olsen.

Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, who missed the preseason because of a hamstring injury, was expected to play Sunday, but this move might be a precaution in case he can't go Sunday against the Chargers.

If Olsen clears waivers, he could be added to the practice squad.

It has been an interesting week for Reisner, who played at Iowa. He was impressive in camp and made the team when it was trimmed to 53 last Saturday. On Sunday, he was cut to make room for linebacker Xavier Adibi. He cleared waivers, and was added to the practice squad.

There is no media access today to the Vikings, who are flying to San Diego.

Myron Medcalf talked to Adrian Peterson this week about playing the Chargers -- against whom he gained 296 yards as a rookie.
