Money changes everything

"All the Money in the World" (⋆⋆⋆½, rated R) is an elegant thriller about the gruesome 1973 kidnapping of John Paul Getty III, 16-year-old grandson of the world's richest man. The Minnesota-born oil tycoon (Oscar nominee Christopher Plummer, stepping in for Kevin Spacey) refused to pay his namesake's ransom until he could dicker the captors down. But the real focus is the corrupting influence of money.
