A delight with bite

Wes Anderson's dark and enchanting animated parable "Isle of Dogs" (⋆⋆⋆⋆, PG-13) is really about underdogs. Set on a Japanese island where dogs have been banished for public health, this epic fantasy is about commitment and friendship and courage. A boy, Atari, ventures to the island to rescue his exiled pet. His arrival makes a band of hounds decide if they're willing to stop roaming unleashed, obey the boy, help him and even protect him. Spoiler alert: Adult humans are the real beasts here.
