Premiering just weeks before the smash film "Black Panther," the CW series "Black Lightning" starred the first black character to headline a DC Comics title. Cress Williams is impressive as Jefferson Pierce, a high school principal who gave up crime-fighting to save young people through education. But gang violence forces him to resume his double life as an electrically charged superhero. The first season comes out on DVD Tuesday as CW prepares for season 2.
