If a picture's worth a thousand words, what's a video worth? This fall, my wife and I took the trip of a lifetime to The Ranch at Rock Creek in Western Montana.

Our experience at the world's only Forbes Travel Guide 5-Star guest ranch was exemplary in every regard, and while the videos we took hardly do the place justice, they provide an enjoyable look back at an unforgettable adventure.

Allow me to share a few of my favorite videos, and memories.

Welcome to The Ranch

I'll begin by borrowing a video from The Ranch to set the stage. Think 5-star service and food, but delivered in such a relaxed and personalized manner you feel like you're home, home on the range (in this case, an authentic working ranch that dates back over 100 years).

Top of the Morning to You

The Ranch sits on 6,600 beautiful acres, with countless miles of trails for hiking and horseback riding. My favorite was The Top of the World hike, an invigorating way to start the day.

Bringing in the Horses

The horses do a little morning hike of their own each day. Watching the horses coming in and out of the pasture each night and morning is a unique highlight at The Ranch.

Stagecoach Ride

You know those Wells Fargo stagecoaches you see in all the old Westerns? Well, we got to ride in an authentic stagecoach from 1851. In fact, the friendly wranglers even let us help drive it for a while. Move over, John Wayne.

Rock Creek

You can almost feel your blood pressure dropping the longer you listen to Rock Creek. The Blue Ribbon trout stream flows for miles through the ranch's 6,600 acres.

The soothing effect is amplified when you're riding along the creek on horseback.

Dinner at the Lodge

Dining at the historic lodge is a treat. Like the luxury homes and glamping tents, the main lodge is filled with artifacts and memorabilia from Montana's rich ranching history. As for the food itself, simply outstanding.

Delicious food, outstanding service, outdoor adventures, historic accommodations and gorgeous scenery... no wonder I fell in love with Montana.

"I always say that Montana is how life is meant to be," said Tia Troy, PR and Communication Manager at Glacier Country Regional Tourism Commission. "The air is cleaner, the people are authentic and kind and there's no better view of the star-filled night sky that in Montana."
