"Victory" is sweet but short-lived

Delmon Young is back batting 8th. Still, it was fun to get some people worked up. And think about this one...

July 1, 2010 at 10:05PM

Thursday's batting order...

1. Denard Span, CF
2. Orlando Hudson, 2B
3. Joe Mauer, C
4. Justin Morneau, 1B
5. Jason Kubel, RF
6. Michael Cuddyer, 3B
7. Jim Thome, DH
8. Delmon Young, LF
9. Nick Punto, SS

Delmon batting third was a pretty good excuse to have some fun.

And now, think about this one, if Carl Pavano's next two starts are like his last two, it's going to be hard to keep him off the All-Star team.

That'll be doubly sweet for him, I assume, because he'll be named by Joe Girardi, manager of the Yankees, where Pavano spent his lost years.

That's all. We're going to shut down Section 219 for the holiday and blogging will be light for a few days afterward. If you want to submit a guest post for next week, send it here. (Remember, I need to know your real name, where you're from and a little bit of a biography.)

Enjoy the 4th of July weekend, and come back next week with as many fingers as you have now.
