Authorities on Friday identified the man who was stabbed in an apartment above a Minneapolis bar over the weekend and died a few days later.

Jeffrey Alan Paulson Sr., 46, was found wounded about 12:30 a.m. above Otter's Saloon in the 600 block of Central Avenue NE. He died Wednesday at Hennepin County Medical Center, according to the medical examiner's office.

Paulson lived above the bar in one apartment and was injured in another, according to the examiner's office.

A 39-year-old man was arrested but was released Tuesday without being charged, according to jail records.

A police report indicates that a 16-year-old boy was injured in the stabbing and that as many as seven people witnessed the incident.

Police encourage anyone with information to call the TIPS line at 612-692-TIPS (8477).
