Veterinarian's license reinstated after discipline

The state veterinary board suspended Mac Dudley's license this year, but is now requiring education.

Whistleblower reported on the veterinary practice of Mac Dudley in April, around the same time that the state veterinary board suspended his license after he failed to comply with a February disciplinary order. Dudley and his brother, William Dudley, operated the Brooklyn Pet Hospital in Brooklyn Center for decades. William Dudley's license was revoked by the board in 2007 after more than a dozen complaints were received about his treatment of animals.

After the story ran, readers asked us to follow up on what happened to Mac Dudley, since his suspension was still subject to a vote by the full veterinary board in May. My colleague Jane Friedmann wrote about the vet board's most recent action in today's paper and also spoke with Mac Dudley, who said he is considering quitting his practice.

What do you think about the board's decision?
