Light-rail service was disrupted Tuesday afternoon after a vehicle got stuck on train tracks in downtown Minneapolis.

The vehicle was seen wedged on the tracks on 5th Street, just around the corner from the U.S. Bank Stadium Station.

Northbound Blue Line trains and westbound Green Line trains were running as far into Minneapolis as the stadium, then turning around to head back toward the Mall of America or St. Paul.

“We are working on clearing the vehicle from the tracks and replacement bus service for downtown Minneapolis,” Metro Transit said on the Rider Alerts page on its website.

It was not immediately clear how the vehicle got stuck on the tracks, which are in a part of downtown where concrete barriers separate the tracks from driving lanes.

The agency suggested light-rail riders use the C or D rapid bus lines or other local bus routes to move travel through downtown until the tracks are cleared.

“Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the inconvenience,” the agency said.
