Vanska to conduct Chicago concerts

He will lead the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in a Brahms program Oct. 18-20.

Osmo Vanska was to have been on the podium Oct. 18 with the opening of the Minnesota Orchestra season. That weekend has been canceled, of course, so Vanska was available for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra's program that same weekend.

Vanska, who has guest conducted twice with Chicago, replaces Bernard Haitink, who has a long association with the CSO.
