Dozens of grave markers have been damaged at a Jewish cemetery in Crystal that has been targeted many times over the past 20 or so years, authorities said Tuesday.
Vandals have twice entered the Adath Chesed Shel Emes Cemetery, near 36th and Winnetka Avenues, on April 28 and again on June 24, and either damaged or moved elsewhere on the grounds 72 markers, according to police.
The cemetery is offering a $1,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the vandalism.
Although Winnetka can be a busy road, the cemetery is set back, away from easy public view.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call police detective Robert Hodge at 763-531-1018 or contact the police tips line at 763-531-1020. Vandals have struck the cemetery previously in 2003, 1993 and 1990.
