The Van Halen reunion tour that everyone guessed would implode appears to be doing just that -- but not before Twin Cities fans get to see the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers once again. Saturday's concert at Xcel Energy Center and 14 more shows are still on, but the group abruptly canceled all of its dates after June 26 -- more than 30 in all -- without any explanation Thursday. RollingStone.com quoted a source close to the tour who said the band members all "hate each other" and "are arguing like mad." This is their second outing with original singer David Lee Roth, who rejoined in 2007 alongside a new bassist, Wolfgang Van Halen, the son of guitarist Eddie Van Halen. Among the cities on the receiving end of the cancellations are Milwaukee, Detroit and Salt Lake City. Xcel Energy Center General Manager Jack Larson also is quoted by RollingStone.com, confirming that the St. Paul date is "selling really well." Saturday's show will be the first on the tour since the cancellations were made. No telling if it will be the last. For a look at Van Halen's ups and downs, E1

Gospel singer carjacked in Detroit Popular Detroit pastor and gospel singer Marvin Winans was assaulted and carjacked in broad daylight Wednesday at a gas station on Detroit's west side. Winans suffered scrapes, bumps and ripped pants in the assault, the Detroit Free Press reported. The three or four young men fled with his gray Louis Vuitton wallet containing $200, his $15,000 Rolex gold-and-diamond-encrusted watch and the deep-burgundy 2012 Infiniti QX56 SUV he was driving, police said. In February, he gave singer Whitney Houston's eulogy at her funeral. Winans' newest recording, "Let the Church Say Amen," is No. 1 on Billboard's gospel charts.

MOURNING: Every family has its share of pain. And then there are the Kennedys. America's great political dynasty is grieving again after Mary Richardson Kennedy, the estranged wife of Robert Kennedy Jr., hanged herself Wednesday at the family's 10-acre estate in suburban New York. Her death, at age 52, came as a shock to some friends and family, even though the past two years had been undeniably tough ones. The couple were going through a divorce, and Mary had been charged twice with driving while intoxicated in 2010. But Victoria Michaelis, a friend since college days, said she hadn't seemed suicidal, or crippled by alcohol problems.
