Since their one and only Twin Cities show at the Triple Rock in 2008 sold out about as quickly as the gig ultimately lasted (50 minutes), there's extra anticipaton for Vampire Weekend to finally return to town in support of their sophomore album that comes out next week. Well, the date has been set: March 22 at First Avenue. The $27.50 tickets go on sale Friday morning.

In the meantime, you can already hear the new disc, "Contra," in its entirety online. It's streaming on the KCRW website as well as the band's own MySpace page (click here). Let us know your first impressions. It might be indie-rock's most anticipated and heavily watched follow-up/sophomore album since the Arcade Fire's "Neon Bible," or maybe Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's "Some Loud Thunder" -- it could go either way as a make-or-break album, in other words. It goes on sale Tuesday.
