Because the person who was playing the piano had left? No, that's not likely. I'd suspect ghosts.
Of course they did. It would be a poorly rated show if they went from place to place every week, finding nothing. But at the plantation they didn't just find paranormal activity, but the intelligent variety. How could they tell? Instead of making issues of People fly across the room, it hurled the Economist?
Wouldn't you be able to say one way or the other? It's like saying "I don't think I've slept in my own bed for a month, but I'll have to check and make sure."
