Val Kilmer is in trouble with some New Mexico officials. It began seven years ago:

That's right: the board wants him to explain his remarks. Here's an explanation: go stuff a cactus down your britches. The idea that you have to explain your remarks to a county commission so they'll kindly let you rent your house to someone - yes, that's exactly how the country isn't supposed to work.

Spokespeople for Kilmer say he'll appear before the commission on June 23. Whether he will eat crow or spit fire, they don't say. Stay tuned.
