Both directions of Interstate 94 from downtown St Paul through the Midway area will be closed Friday night through Monday morning, the Minnesota Department of Transportation said
Crews from Xcel Energy will be relocating power lines ahead of a project on Snelling Avenue that includes rebuilding the bridge spanning I-94. That project is scheduled to begin in May. That project includes installing a new bus rapid-transit line along with sidewalk work, landscape and new pavement between I-94 and Pierce Butler Route.
This weekend's I-94 closure will be in effect from 10 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday from Hwy. 280 to I-35E. During the closure, motorists will be detoured via Hwy. 280, Hwy. 36 and I-35E.
