Updated Snowfall for Thursday Night & Friday

January 7, 2010 at 8:25PM

A several inch snowfall created poor travel conditions across the MidwestThursday. Cities that had to deal with the storm include Chicago, Milwaukee,Indianapolis, Detroit and Columbus. The storm will depart this region overnight for destinations to the east. Thatmeans Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York and Boston will get snow late tonightand Friday morning, but this will not be a big storm for the I-95 corridor.

Why? Simply, this storm will not rapidly strengthen along the coast, like somedo.

The storm will produce decent snowfall into the Appalachians, but amounts willdwindle to under 2 inches on the coastal plain.
