Charges have been filed against 19 other Guantanamo prisoners and have been prepared against a 20th. The military plans to prosecute about 80 in all. A look at some of those charged:

Omar Khadr, a Canadian captured at age 15, is accused of murder for allegedly throwing a grenade that killed a U.S. soldier in Afghanistan in 2002. His trial is scheduled for Oct. 8.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the highest-ranking Al-Qaida suspect in U.S. custody, is charged with masterminding the Sept. 11 attacks. Pretrial hearings for the Kuwaiti-born defendant are expected next month; no trial date has been set.

Ramzi Binalshibh, a Yemeni and one of four alleged co-conspirators who face a joint trial with Mohammed, allegedly helped find flight schools for the 9/11 hijackers, helped them enter the United States and helped finance their operation.

Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri, a Saudi of Yemeni descent, is charged with organizing and directing the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole.

Mohammed Jawad, an Afghan, is accused of throwing a grenade that wounded two U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan in 2002. Pretrial hearings are scheduled for next week.
