COON RAPIDS
Today: The City Council is expected to approve a new logo that will use a raccoon for the first time in more than a decade. The new logo is part of the city's effort to create a new "brand" identity in consultation with the marketing firm Tunheim Associates. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 11155 Robinson Drive NW.
HAM LAKE
Feb. 12: The city will hold a Town Hall meeting regarding its comprehensive plan. Five alternative plans to manage growth have been prepared, with implications for business, residential development and sewer lines. The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. at City Hall, 15544 Central Av. NE.
BROOKLYN CENTER
Feb. 11: The City Council will hold a public hearing on the street improvement project in the Maranatha neighborhood near Willow Lane Park and Interstate 94. The project, which is estimated to cost $5,175,000, will consist of street, storm drainage and utility improvements. The public hearing will include discussion of assessments on property owners.
RAMSEY
Feb. 12: The City Council will hear a presentation on a community center at its work session. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 7550 Sunwood Drive NW.
BROOKLYN PARK
Feb. 26: Residents are invited to contribute ideas for the future of the Huntington Pointe Apartments site. The city is working with the Corridor Housing Initiative and Hennepin County to host a series of community meetings on development ideas for the area. The meetings will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Zanewood Recreation Center, 7100 Zane Av. N. once a month until April. The first meeting, on Feb. 26, will focus on gathering information from residents.
