Unusual European warmth will spread out northward from the Alps throughmidweek as rainy low pressure holds sway over the southwest.An area centered upon Germany and reaching into neighboring lands will havehigh temperatures to between 70 and 75 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday. And atleast some of this area will be as warm again on Thursday. Such readings wouldbe 15 to 20 degrees above normal for mid-April.

Meanwhile, a broad Atlantic storm will roll eastward to an area off northernSpain and western France as of midweek. This storm will trigger widespread rainover Portugal, Spain and France into the southern British Archipelago. Higherground over Spain and northern Portugal will even be cold enough for snow.
