Unity after the storm

Republican pledge to be unified after their divisive gubernatorial convention fight

April 29, 2010 at 1:06AM

Things have gotten pretty testy in the Republican race for gubernatorial endorsement. And it's only expected to get worse on the GOP convention floor on Friday when Reps. Marty Seifert and Tom Emmer duke it out for the party's nod.

But come Saturday morning, a bit of breakfast will make everyone get along again. At least that's the plan.

The Republican Party plans a "Unity Breakfast" the morning after the endorsement fight.

Republican party chair Tony Sutton said the winner will be there as will, what he termed the "non-winner" (that's the person most folks would call the loser.)

Gov. Tim Pawlenty is slated to be on hand to symbolically pass the torch to the man who gets the endorsement prize. U.S. Reps. Michele Bachmann and Erik Paulsen will also be on hand for the 8 am meal at the Minneapolis Hilton.
