Spring, summer and fall 2017 schedule announced
A five-game homestand that begins July 4 against Columbus and ends Aug. 5 against defending MLS champion Seattle highlights Minnesota United's regular season-schedule, which was released Thursday.
Seattle's visit will end a stretch in which the Loons play seven of eight games at home.
The Loons' inaugural season begins March 3 at Portland in the league opener and ends Oct. 22 at San Jose. The home opener is March 12 against fellow expansion team Atlanta. It's the club's only home match in March.
Minnesota United, part of the Western Conference, will play three of its 34 matches against former U.S. Open Cup opponent Sporting Kansas City. The last, on Oct. 7, is the team's final home game of the regular season. Nine of the Loons' matches will be nationally televised.
