Former Gophers quarterback Mitch Leidner's NFL attempt begins in Baltimore during a tryout with the Ravens next weekend, he told the Star Tribune on Sunday.

Leidner went undrafted and said he fielded about seven tryout offers from NFL teams, including the Vikings. The 23-year-old Lakeville South product made sure to call Ravens tight end Maxx Williams, his former Gophers teammate, for a heads up on the Ravens organization.

"I just kind of like the situation out there in Baltimore," Leidner said.

Leidner completed nearly 57 percent of his passes for 7,287 yards and 36 touchdowns with 32 interceptions during his Gophers career. He also rushed for 33 TDs in four seasons.

Cornerback Jalen Myrick was the only Minnesota player drafted. He was taken by Jacksonville in the seventh round on Saturday.

Meanwhile, former Gophers receiver Drew Wolitarsky accepted an invite to the Vikings rookie camp. He was the team's top wide receiver in 2016.

On Saturday, the Gophers announced safety Damarius Travis signed with New England as an undrafted free agent, as did offensive tackle Jonah Pirsig with Tennessee.
