Unbeatens move on in adapted floor hockey

Anoka-Hennepin's two-year winning streak in adapted floor hockey grew a little larger Friday when the Mustangs beat Burnsville/Farmington/Lakeville 11-4 in the CI Division quarterfinals of the state tournament Friday at Bloomington Jefferson.

Anoka-Hennepin was led by junior forward Tyler Kurkowski, who scored nine goals. The defending state champion Mustangs improved their record to 13-0 on the season and have won 28 consecutive games.

In other CI Division quarterfinals, Owatonna defeated St. Cloud 21-9, Maple Grove beat New Prague 4-3 and Dakota United downed Mounds View/Irondale/Roseville 13-6.

An undefeated favorite also had smooth sailing in the PI Division quarterfinals. Robbinsdale/Hopkins/Mound-Westonka beat St. Paul Humboldt 9-0 to run its record to 14-0. Mike Madsen scored six goals for the Robins.

Maple Grove downed Rochester 7-2, Brainerd/Pillager beat South Suburban 10-2 and Dakota United beat Anoka-Hennepin 10-2 in the other PI Division quarterfinals.

The semifinals and championship games will be played today at Bloomington Jefferson.
