The deaths of seven U.S. troops in Afghanistan on Tuesday -- five in the Kabul bombing and two in the south -- brought the total number of American troops killed in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan since the Afghan war began in 2001 to at least 994, according to an Associated Press count.
