A pair of Twin Cities attorneys were ordered reinstated this week to practice law in Minnesota.
Randall Tigue, a well-known lawyer specializing in First Amendment issues, and Paul Egtvedt, who filed a successful class-action lawsuit against the former West Publishing Co., were suspended for professional misconduct.
The Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility, which filed the disciplinary petitions against the attorneys, didn't oppose their request for reinstatement.
Tigue, 65, of St. Anthony, was suspended for a month in March. He must complete the professional responsibility portion of the state bar examination, and will be placed on disciplinary probation for two years. Tigue will also be monitored by the Professional Responsibility Office and must hire a certified public accountant who will directly supervise the maintenance of his trust account books and records.
Egtvedt, 43, of Edina, was suspended for two months in February. He will also be on probation for two years, supervised by a licensed Minnesota attorney and initiate or continue current treatment by a licensed consulting psychologist or other mental health professional.
