Two shot and wounded on Park Avenue just south of downtown Minneapolis

A male critically hurt in the stomach and a female with a wound to her arm both showed up at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Two people were shot Wednesday evening in the 1500 block of Park Avenue S. in Minneapolis, police said.

Both victims showed up at Hennepin County Medical Center shortly after the shooting at 6:45 p.m. The male victim was shot in the stomach and was in critical condition. The female had a less serious wound in her left arm.

Officers talked to several witnesses and the department's crime lab was processing the scene. Officers will be canvassing the neighborhood Wednesday night and Thursday looking for more witnesses and asking questions.
