Two seriously injured by hit-and-run driver in Minneapolis

Suspect sought in the incident that happened early Monday on Lake Street between 4th and 5th avenues.

Minneapolis police are searching for the driver of a blue SUV that allegedly struck a bicyclist and pedestrian on Lake Street early Monday and did not stop.

Both victims were taken by ambulance to HCMC with “potentially life-threatening injuries,” a statement from police said.

The SUV was traveling east in the westbound lanes of E. Lake Street between 4th and 5th avenues about 12:20 a.m. The vehicle struck a bicyclist who was riding in a bike lane. The SUV then struck a pedestrian crossing E. Lake Street and continued on its way, according to preliminary information from police.

The victims were both men, police said.

No arrests have been made.
