Two more chances to learn about Metro Transit's Service Improvement Plan

Those plans are the subject of two more public meetings Saturday and Monday.

November 14, 2014 at 12:22PM

Metro Transit has identified 122 improvements that by 2030 would increase the frequency of service on existing routes, make route connections easier and introduce more reverse-commute options for those heading from the core cities to the suburbs. It also includes adding 11 arterial Bus Rapid Transit lines that would run on urban streets such as Penn Avenue.

Those plans are the subject of two more public meetings from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Conway Recreation Center, 2090 Conway Av., St. Paul and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Anoka County Northtown Central Library, 711 County Hwy. 10 NE., Blaine.

A public hearing on the Service Improvement Plan will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Metropolitan Council Chambers, 390 N. Robert Street, St. Paul.

The Met Council is expected to adopt the plan sometime in early 2015.
