Two fatal accidents, one involving a motorcyclist, were reported in outstate Minnesota on Sunday morning.

The first, at 9:53 a.m., occurred on Hwy. 7 east of Hutchinson, and claimed the life of George Horrmann, Jr., 81, of Hutchinson.

He was a passenger in a Ford sport-utility vehicle that was waiting to turn when it was rear-ended and forced into the path of an oncoming GMC Yukon.

Horrmann was not wearing a seat belt, the State Patrol said.

At 10:30 a.m. in Faribault County west of Albert Lea, Klinton Blackdeer, 30, of Altoona, Iowa, was killed when his motorcycle was struck on County Road 17 by a Dodge minivan driven by Geraldine Ziegler, 77, of Easton, Minn.

The vehicles collided when Ziegler tried to cross County Road 17 to enter a driveway, the patrol said.

The patrol said alcohol was not a factor in either crash.
