FILE - In this Jan. 20, 2011 file photo, actor Ashton Kutcher attends a special screening of "No Strings Attached" in New York. Kutcher is giving his Twitter followers a clue that he may be joining "Two and a Half Men" ' or he's punking them. A tweet Wednesday came amid reports that he's nearing a deal to replace the fired Charlie Sheen on TV's top-rated comedy. (AP Photo/Evan Agostini, File)

By now you've heard the rumors, but here are the details:

That's actually quite clever. Demi must be sitting him down every night and helping with the homework.

They tried to get Hugh Grant, which would have been interesting, but "creative differences" loomed. What, I've no idea. Perhaps Grant wanted to make the show more British, with unemployed neighbors who do nothing but drink and eat poor food, but it might have been money. Everyone's going to want Sheen-sized money. They probably begin the meetings by telling the prospective replacements "you can't have what he got. Now let's go from there."

Or not: People says he's getting a "huge payday." We'll see. His last show lasted two episodes. He has name recognition, but does anyone jump and down and feel their pulse quicken because they're about to get some entertainment, Kutcher-style?
