WHITE SOX UPDATE

Their four-game winning streak ended Wednesday, but they have climbed back into third place in the AL Central and entered Thursday's games six games out of the final AL playoff spot. … These are Justin Morneau's first games as a visiting player in Target Field. The 2006 AL MVP, third all-time in Twins history with 221 home runs, entered Thursday 7-for-30 (.233) with one homer since being activated earlier this month. … RHP James Shields, 3-5 with a 5.17 ERA since being traded to Chicago on June 4, would be in line to start Sunday's game, but the White Sox have not yet announced a starter. Shields is rumored to be a likely trade candidate before Monday's deadline.

TWINS UPDATE

Since opening the season 11-34 through 45 games, they have gone 26-29 and been outscored by only two runs, 284-282. … SS Eduardo Nunez leads the American League in stolen bases with 26. … Milone is 4-1 with a 2.75 ERA in nine career starts against Chicago.
