Some notes after the Twins fell to a season-low nine games under .500.

Twins manager Paul Molitor said that the club was going with the, "Status quo," after the 14-9 loss to the Cubs. That means no roster moves.

Despite three players leaving the game because of the heat, there is no concern about calling in reinforcements.

And despite using four relievers on Saturday, the Twins are going to stick with the current bullpen arrangement. Addison Reed threw 26 pitches, Zach Duke threw 37, Trevor Hildenberger threw 24 and Matt Belisle threw 16. I would be reluctant to use any of them Sunday, maybe Hildenberger.

So they might be banking on a long outing from Lance Lynn on Sunday

Twins next for Larnach

With an NCAA championship secured for the Oregon State Beavers, outfielder Trevor Larnach now can sign with the Twins.
It's believed that the sides have a framework of a deal in place, and it should be a matter of days before a deal is finalized
Oregon State beat Arkansas on Thursday to win the three-game series.

In fact, I'm getting indications that something could be wrapped up early next week.

"(Scouting director) Sean Johnson obviously will connect and take the next steps around this," Twins Chief Baseball Officer Derek Falvey said. "I'm hopeful that it's soon."

Sano watch

Miguel Sano is expected to get his bat and his body in shape while going through another spring training in Florida. Falvey said Sano is definitely working on his body.

"Sano, we've talked about the holistic approach. He's down in Fort Myers doing a great job," Falvey said. "His conditioning has continued to get better and better and that's helped him on the field. We've seen some things from the offensive side with adjustments. Rick was there first. He spent some time with Steve Singleton. He's progressing."

When asked directly if Sano has definitely lost weight, Falvey said: "He has. He's done a good job. But I've said it 1,000 times, it's not so much about the weight. We want him to be strong. He's a big man. We want the lower half to be strong to put him in a good position to hit the way we know he can."
