Twins take on Brewers without Buxton

The Twins kick off a 10-game road trip with three games against their interleague rivals.

Looks like I picked the wrong year to drive to Milwaukee.

At some point during my journey, the Twins placed Byron Buxton on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left thumb. He suffered the injury on Tuesday while attempting to steal second base. H played Wednesday - the Golden Sombrero game against Chris Sale - but apparently the Twins decided he needed to let the thumb heal.

UPDATE: Twins manager Paul Molitor said Buxton could be out four to six weeks.

What is up with Buxton's left hand/wrist? He sprained it in spring training last year then aggravated it. He later broke his left middle finger during Arizona Fall League play.

Hopefully we'll get more details from the Twins once we're allowed into the clubhouse. Shane Robinson gets the start in center tonight. The Twins release of Jordan Schafer puts their center field situation in a little bit of a flux.

Alex Meyer is here, and will talk about his transformation from a erratic starter to strike-throwing reliever. Danny Santana should be here to talk about how he's a new man.

And Paul Molitor is here, where he starred for 15 years. The Brewers are having a Molitor bobblehead giveaway on Sunday.

And a few thousand Twins fans are expected to invade Miller Park this weekend - at least the ones who aren't at Summerfest.

Be patient driving over. There's construction a few miles outside Menomonie. And there's all kinds of orange barrels as you approach downtown.

Maybe the Twins need to surround Buxton with orange barrels.
