Major League Baseball is expected to announce its 2026 schedule Tuesday, and the Twins will likely have one game in Dyersville, Iowa.

The Twins are tentatively scheduled to play in the “Field of Dreams” game against the Philadelphia Phillies next August, the Minnesota Star Tribune learned. The two teams haven’t confirmed the special event or the specific date of the game, which will almost certainly be nationally televised.

News of the “Field of Dreams” game, which is still subject to additional planning, was first reported by the Athletic and the Des Moines Register.

There hasn’t been a game at the site, where the 1989 Kevin Costner movie was filmed, since 2022. The site, which featured a temporary 7,800-seat stadium surrounded by cornfields, was sold to new ownership and underwent major renovations to become a youth baseball and softball complex.

The Chicago White Sox and the New York Yankees played the initial “Field of Dreams” game in 2021, the first MLB game in Iowa, which memorably ended with a walk-off homer by Chicago’s Tim Anderson. The Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds there the following year.

The last time the Twins participated in one of MLB’s special events was 2018, when they split a two-game series against Cleveland in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Etc.

• The Twins designated reliever Erasmo Ramírez for assignment to make room for Sunday’s starter, Taj Bradley, on their active 26-man roster. Ramirez, 35, earned a save in his Twins debut and went 0-1 with a 2.45 ERA in nine appearances spanning 11 innings.

• Injured Twins outfielder Alan Roden underwent surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb Friday, performed by Dr. Adam Bakker at Twin Cities Orthopedics. The surgery typically comes with a two-month recovery timeline, so he should be fine for spring training next year.

• Starting pitcher Cory Lewis gave up six runs on five hits — including a grand slam to Omar Narváez — and two walks in only a third of an inning for the St. Paul Saints in their 11-5 loss to Round Rock at CHS Field.
