Jose Berrios finally showed what he can do, throwing his fastball for strikes and shutting down Cleveland's offense on Sunday. It was an impressive outing because he stayed on the attack, throwing fastballs up in the zone and daring Cleveland to hit him. He only had four strikeouts, but he was avoiding the fat part of most of the bats on Saturday.

I was told that Berrios dominated in the minors by throwing plenty of strikes, but using more sinkers. I saw a lot of 94-95 mph heaters on Saturday. But his sinker was good too, breaking back over the outside corner to righthanded hitters. He also benefited from CB Bucknor's strike zone a few times, which angered the Indians.

"I took advantage, and now my confidence is going up," Berrios said.

I think he caught Cleveland at the right time. The Indians are scuffling at the plate. It's too good of a lineup not to produce, but the Twins have held them to one run over two games in his series.

So I'm curious to see how Berrios does against Colorado next week. Pitchers usually get in trouble when they throw a lot of belt-high fastballs. Berrios has a really good sinker, so I want to see if he uses it more next week. But for Twins fans who have heard the hype about this kid for years, they have a better understanding of what Berrios was so highly-regarded.

Cleveland really didn't spend a lot of time talking about Berrios on Saturday. They preferred to talk about Byron Buxton, who has patrolled the outfield this weekend with aplomb.

"He's awesome," shortstop Francisco Lindor said. "He is as advertised."

Manager Terry Francona said Buxton might have the most range in the league.

"We better not hit it to center," Francona said. "That kid is impressive."

Well, not totally. Buxton had a glove on Carlos Santana's drive in the third but had hit pop out of his glove as he leaped up and smacked into the wall. He froze on contact, thinking the ball was hit off the end of the bat. But his recovery speed allowed him to get to the wall and attempt to catch the ball.

"I thought I had it," Buxton said.

If he holds on, Berrios is looking at a shutout.
